Leumesin or Lymosin Ancestry of Sir Gilbert Waterhouse

Hi List,

I recently received a pedigree showing the descent of Sir Gilbert Waterhouse of Kirton in Lincolnshire born circa 1285 from a Leumesin or Lymosin family. According to the chart his descendency is as follows:

Generations

1. Guismond, Seigneur de Moulins, living in Normandy in 1032

2. Guismond II, Seigneur de Moulins

3. Guiscard married to Gertrude Longval or Longvale
He was brought to England by Henry I and given property.

4. Robert married to Grace de Harcourt

5. Henry de Lymosin, drowned in 1216?

6. Walter married to Adelle, daughter of Lord Seagrave or Segrave

7. Roger de Leumesin, changed his name to Waterhouse, at Nottingham Castle circa 1290, married to Johane de la V or W...

8. William

9. Sir Gilbert Waterhouse married to Isabella Longvale, daughter of Sir Richard Longvale

I haven't been able to find anything solid beyond Sir Gilbert. Did a Leumesin or Lymosin family actually exist or is this pedigree fictitious?

I welcome any comments, corrections, or additions.

Thank You,

Chuck Owens
