Members,
I've ran into a wall in trying to find the ancestral line of
"Mor O'Connor of Offaly" the wife of Conchobar, King of Meath and the
son of Domnall, Abbot of the Abbot of Clonard d. 1019.
They were the parents of Bean Midi O'Melaughlin, the wife of Niall Mac
Lochlainn, King of the Tir Coneaill, parents of Muirchertach Mac
Lochlainn d. 1166
Mor O'connor's father is listed as Conchobar O'Connor, King of Offaly
and that is all I can come up with.
I've ordered a book regarding the "O'Connors of Connacht" in hopes that
the O'Connors of Offaly will be listed there, however, I'm starting to
think they are more separate then I originally thought.

CORRECTION TO MY LAST POSTING:
Bean Midi O'Melaughlin, was the wife of Domnall Mac Lochlainn and the
parents of Niall, thus the grandparents of Muirchertach Mac Lochlainn d.
1166
I guess I need another cup of coffee this morning

The O'Connors of Connacht and the O'Connors of Offaly were in fact
completely different, unrelated families who happened to have the same
surname. The O'Connors of Offaly were not from Connacht, but were a
Leinster family, a branch of the early medieval dynasty of Uí Failge,
of which "Offaly" is an Anglicization.

Re: Ancestors of Mor O'Connor of Offaly
Stewart,
Thank you for your response.
I realized I was most likely barking up the wrong tree with the "Connacht"
O'Connors.
I'm now on a path of getting the info I was looking for so I think my
question can be put to bed.
Warmest regards
