Duncanson sisters of New York and the Erskine, Earls of Mar

This query involves a possible descent of the Duncanson sisters of New
York from the family of the Erskine, Earls of Mar.

At http://www.stirnet.com/HTML/genie/genfam.htm#brit are found
genealogies of many British families. Among these, sub Forrester and
Livingston, are identifications seemingly for Margaret Forrester wife
(probably second) of Henry Livingston, of (or in) Falkirk, died between
1574-1581 [Livingston, Edwin Brockholst. _Livingstons of Callendar_
(1920), p. 185]. This Margaret (Forrester) Livingston (born say 1520) -
besides being ancestral to the Livingstons, Earls of Newburgh (a title
long since held through female descent by Italian descendants, and
currently by Prince Filippo Giambattista Rospigliosi, 12th Earl of
Newburgh) - is also likely ancestral to the Duncanson sisters of New
York, among whom was Catharine (Duncanson) Glen (1621-1684), of
Schenectady. As she and her sisters have many [_New York Genealogical
and Biographical Record_, 128 (1997): 8].

In <stirnet>, reference is made to this Margaret as having been,
previous to her marriage to Henry Livingston of Falkirk, first the wife
(married 21 May 1536) of Sir James Colville, who died before 4
December1540. From this as yet unsupported source, Margaret (Forrester)
Colville would seem to have married Henry Livingston shortly thereafter,
as her first Livingston son - later Sir John Livingston, of Abercorn
(died after 1610) - was born about 1543.

My query involves a work cited in <stirnet> called _The Forresters: A
Lowland Clan and its Lairds_ (1989), by Colin D.I.G. Forrester. Citing
this work, <stirnet> shows the mother of Margaret (Forrester) (Colville)
Livingston to have been Elizabeth Erskine, a daughter of Robert Erskine,
4th Lord Erskine (de jure Earl of Mar) by his wife Isabel Campbell.

As I have been unable to acquire a copy of this book to check cited
references, and as neither the _Scots Peerage_ (1908) nor the few
genealogies I have been able to view locally mentions this daughter of
the 4th Lord Erskine (d.j. Earl of Mar), I wonder if anyone among our
contributors has information on this connection, or advice as to how and
where to proceed.

Thanks very much for your thoughts.
