According to the new "Oxford Dictionary of National Biography", William de Percy (d. ante 28 July 1245) had five daughters by his first wife, Joan de Briwere. They were heirs to their maternal uncle William de Briwere in 1233, receiving a share of his estate in each case.

Various sources name four of these daughters, but not all five. "Burke's Peerage", 106th edn, p. 2118, col. 2, sub Northumberland (Dukes of), gives four of them, viz.:
1.Joan married a de Ferlington
2.Agnes married Eustace de Balliol
3.Alice married Ralph Bermingham
4.Anastasia married Ralph Fitz Ranulf, of Middleham, Yorks.

It also states that they had the foregoing "with another daughter".

Who was she?

Elsewhere, I have seen them another daughter ascribed to them called Ada de Percy. She is said to have married a William Darell, of the Sessay, Yorkshire line of the Darells, antecedents of the families of Darell of Littlecote in Ramsbury, Wilts., and of Calehill in Little Chart, Kent. I can find no evidence for this and wonder if anyone can point any out to me?

This query may be of interest to posters who have followed past threads on the Darell/Beaufort connexion as if Ada de Percy is the fifth de Percy daughter referred to en passant in Burke, those with the Darell/Beaufort connexion would have a de Percy one too, and with it, at least 2 descents from Charlemagne and Henry II.

Many thanks, in advance.

Sanders in his English Baronies p. 123, note (4) confirms these four and
prefixes his list with "The identity of four of the daughters is known."
