Greifenstein (Tirol & Trentino)

Hi! I've started to research the Greifenstein family of Tirol and
Trentino.

My starting point was the Tiroler Adler website. It has a genealogy
based in old sources, starting with a Berthold von Greifenstein (fl.
1190) and ending with the three daughters of Franz von Greifenstein (+
1420) -apparently the last male descendant. According to a history of
the South Tirol and Trentino I've read, in 1350 when Conrad von Teck
-captain of the Brandenburger- took Hastelburg (Castel Flavon) and
Greifenstein (Castel del Grifo), he preserved the life of the members
of the Greifenstein family who had refuged there but forced them to
leave all their goods and exile. What about these Greifensteiner?
Where did they settle?

Apparently this Berthold von Greifenstein was a natural child of one
of the counts of Bolzano (Bozen), Greifenstein and Mareit (or Morit),
a family which died out in 1166 or 1173, when Arnold III died sine
prole superstite. According to the traditional chronicles the counts
of Bolzano's origin was Arnold von Oberisartal (+post 1027), an
illegimate son of duke Heinrich II "Zaenker" of Bavaria. But,
according to Walter Landi, the counts of Bolzano descended from the
Ebersberger family, the famous Bavarian countal family which died out
in 1045, when Adalbero II died without male sons. Does anyone know
Prof. Landi's work?

I would like to know what is the status of the research on these
Medieval families, if anyone may be willing to share its knowledge or
sources.

Thanks!

Esteban
