Help with Norwegian Birth Certificate please

Legg inn av Charani » 12 nov 2006 11:36:04

A Norwegian lady of my acquaintance who was born in 1921 has had all
her documents stolen and is anxious to replace them. She's worried
that she may not be able to get a duplicate.

Are there any restrictions on obtaining modern birth certificates
please?

I know I will need to name her village, farm, and parish of birth
along with the fylke before I can apply.

I'd wondered about the embassy since she's in England (Midlands).
Thanks.

I went through the loss of my birth certificate some years ago, needing it
for some other documentation. As has been mentioned, I contacted a local
Consulate General as it will probably require an official translation.

The police are already on to it. They know the person responsible but
she's disappeared. That's an English problem though.
