Support for this program is nothing short of useless. I am/was a
registered user. I recently suffered a computer crash and lost
everything. I asked Welker, who produced this program to allow me to
re-download the (previous) version that I had just lost. He not only
refused, he was totally obnoxious. Not a savory person to deal with at
all, with no idea how to politely help his customers. I liked the
output of this program, but will never use it again on principle. You
live and learn and then find something better.

Thank you for the warning. I use GedHtree and find the

s/w good. It irritated me to find that I could only
download incremental updates, of the same version, for
a year. Most program developers only charge if there
is a major change and benefit.

IE I bought 2.25 but have to pay again to get 2.50
which corrects problems. Beware !

Hi Martin,

I have never been a critical person, just the opposite in fact, but I
think what bothered me most is that I politely asked him to allow me to
re-download 2.40, the version I had lost, and he refused point blank,
telling me that he does not keep previous versions and that he was not
reponsible for my computer problem, and if he spent his time doing this
kind of thing he would never be able to further improve his program. He
suggested I use 2.50 unregistered, or pay to register it. I wasn't
asking for a free ride, just simply asking for some support, which I
believe should be high on the list for a developer. I too purchased
2.25 during the summer of 2005.

I also liked the output from the program, especially the pedigree
charts, but will not miss the rather user-unfriendly interface.

I'm now investigating Legacy and RootsMagic. Both appear to be
extremely good.

Take care,
Susan
