Read-only files

My PAF files have all become "read-only" and I cannot add information
to them. What can I do to make them usable again and add information to
them? -- Mary

duplicate them for safety's sake first if you do not already have a
current back up you can open

which OS?
if windows
right click the icon of the closd file in windows explorer or on the
desk top if there or "my computer"
and look at properties

uncheck the check box which says "read only" click OK or save

Thanks very much. It worked. I tried it long ago with "File Properties"
and that didn't have a place for "read-only" properties to click on.
Your suggestion was much better and the right one. Thanks again.

Did you just copy them to CD and back maybe? Either way, you should be
able to right click on it and change the properties back from read-only
there.
