FTM Tree: How to change box width for each generation indivi

Legg inn av Susan Goldsmith » 25. november 2006 kl. 22.06

This is my first post. Thank you very much for your help.

I have a very large tree which I want to have printed; I would like to reduce the size by making the boxes wider in early generations where there are few people so I can cut down on the wasted space.

Even though I selected the first generation and widened the box size, it did not widen all the lines that could be widened in the selected generation. It also widened every box in every generation, which I did not want.

I don't think it is possible to set the box width for specific generation.
The setting applies to all.

Not really. Because if you could make the early generations have wider
boxes, then they could be shorter (vertical) boxes. This would then allow
more generations to be displayed on that page, which then has flow-on
effects to subsequent pages, so that would be a fairly large edit to do. Of
course, if you aren't worried about the vertical layout just the horizontal,
it would be less work.

But of course it would be nicer still just to specify it in FTM.
