Now *I* got a wish list!

I sure wish PAF or even LEGACY would give me a list for this!

Carole Beatrice Duck married Alfred Edgar Aardvark

...

I'd kinda like a list or a sort option that would show me who Beatrice
Aardvark's husband was.

There are numerous sorts available that will get me there -- eventually
-- but I'd LIKE to do it in one step before I forget why I wanted it. (g)

RootsMagic is very close with

Search
Name Find
enter Beatrice in given name field
enter Aardvark in surname field
Click on Next to go through the list of possibles that fit.

Of course, if like me you only have one Aardvark in your database,
then you go right to Beatrice and see Alfred's details displayed
immediately.

Legacy doesn't know about females' married names per se. It knows about
marriages, but the association isn't made.

I've sent Cheryl a way of doing this directly from MS Access. As she
only wants to find the husband's name, it is a small query.

Yes, I used to do that routinely when I was using FTM. But it's so
easy, I'm surprised that Legacy doesn't provide a way to do it like RM
does.

Actually it does. In index view I have my columns set from left to right:
T1 | RIN | Full Name | Spouse1 | and so on -

Under given name enter the first name of the wife. Under the Spouse
column you can clearly see which husband and last name match the one you
want. No work arounds, kludges or queries. If you don't see what you
want there may be a spouse2 involved. Just add that column also.

Sorry about the double post. My mail client said the first attempt failed.

Well, PAF does that -- it's awkward with more-than-a-few of the same
last name. A filtered search would find her in one pass, whether it's
her only or 4th husband.
