Legacy H-E-L-PPPP!!!!

Legg inn av singhals » 25 mar 2005 20:41:57

Well, somewhere along the way, I d/l the program and presumably got the
password e-mailed to me. But, I just went to d/l it again and here it
is, but I can't install it because I can't find the password.

So, tell me is the password one of those generic ones or was it
something different for everyone?

[Yes, actually, this _was_ my week for computer anomalies. (g)]

Hmmm ... my password was 'history' - maybe they change it every year or so!

Just had to re-install legacy as well, I was blessing my pack rat habit of
keeping almost every email!

Version 3 is pioneer
Version 4 is history
Version 5 is family

Actually, there were several different passwords for v3, which has
complicated the issue for those who are hanging on to v3 and want to
reinstall it. We just recommend that they update to v5.

But v5 requires more system resources.

I was using v 3 and later 4 on a laptop with 32k memory, and it could not be
upgraded. I could not afford to buy new hardware, so i stuck to version 4,
because version 5 needed more memory.

True - but normally this hasn't been a problem for our users. New
computers are so cheap these days and there are plenty of newer used
ones in the used-PC markets, including laptops, that have the resources
that at least Legacy v4 can run on.

Besides the password problem, Legacy v3 isn't supported any more (nor
is Legacy v4) with updates and bug fixes and if the typical fixes on
our website don't work (and usually updating to the latest build is one
of the fixes), there's nothing that can be done to solve the problem.

| Steve I take note of what you say, but there areways of increasing the
active memory.
what is your operating system, and what Ram are you working with.

That was a Dell Latitude laptop with Win 95 and 32Mb memory.

But I don't need a fix for that now, I was merely pointing out why some people
might use older versions.

Steve I am not suggesting that you are but to understand the problem it's
sometimes necessary to understand what you
are trying to run the programme on.

Legacy 5 requires the following Min:

Intel Pentium class computer.

VGA or higher display.

Window 95 or higher.

A Hard Disk with 35 megabytes of available space.

A floppy disk drive.

16 to 32 megabytes of RAM memory. (64 to 128 mb or more recommended)

A mouse.

As you can see your system is a little below par.
