I need to print numerous ancestor trees in FTM. What I've done is used
their template for Standard Pedigree Tree and customized it. Then I've
saved that view. I don't want to have to pull up this same template that
came with the program and customize it each time I want the same chart, just
for a different individual. What I can't figure out is how to create my own
template. Is that possible?

Yes, just save it under a new report name.

Yes, just save it under a new report name.
When I recall this saved view, how do I change the primary individual?

Re: Creating Template in FTM 2005
You have customized a Standard Pedigree Tree with whatever information you
like. Save this as the standard tree it is, with the things you have
changed. Now you go to that person you want to have in focus. Open the tree
and that person is the focos-person on the tree. Save this tree under a new
report name. Do so with others person, and next time you want to see that
persons tree you have to open it as an saved report, By doing so you will
see, that next time your trees is open, it also have been updatede. I have
done so, and have over 50 trees in my database, all with difrent persons in
focos.
Hope thar was what you was looking for.

This is the part I can't figure out. If I alter a Pedigree Tree, I only see
how to save it as a saved view. I don't see how to customize the basic
layout of the template so that I can recall it that way each time I want to
choose a new individual.

Re: Creating Template in FTM 2005
Larsen,
I wanted to say thanks for your help. I've been told by someone at FTM that
the program doesn't do what I want it to do. I've looked at Legacy though
and the free version will do what I want, so I'll just go with that. Thanks
again.
