Ellis Island Passenger Manifest

Legg inn av Alex » 16 okt 2004 19:53:26

I have successfully found a relative who arrived in the US via Ellis
Island.
Unfortunately his record calls up the incorrect manifest.

Is there anyway to access the manifests directly without going through
a passenger search? I would like to see the original, not a
transcription.

The passenger was:
Lipot Grosz, arrival on 27 December 1904 on board the Vaderland.

Thank you

Alex

I had the same problem the other day. If you go to the top of the page,
click on Support the Foundation to get the pull-down list, and click on
Contact Us, then you can send Ellis Island an email explaining your problem.
They can tell you exactly how to get to the right manifest page. You end up
going to the Morse site, which seems to have some much better ways of
accessing info than Ellis Island does. Gives more options, I think. Here
is the site http://www.stevemorse.org/ You might try a lookup there first,
if you wish, but the Ellis Island people were quite helpful to me.

Good luck.
