Does anyone know of a way to look up records from WWI? I have a death
certificate for my grandfather that indicates he died of a brain tumor
possibly from an old injury suffered in the army. He died in 1929 so I'm
guessing it had to be WWI. His name was George Forrest Lind and he was born
in Chicago IL May 10, 1893.

Any ideas? My family has been trying to trace this ancestor down for 20
years.

Thanks,
John Lynd

(At some point the spelling changed from Lind to Lynd - another
mystery...)

The National Archives (archives.gov) are the ones who hold those records.
There are a dozen branches of the archives across the country.
