Hardy Family Lookup

Legg inn av Michael » 25 aug 2004 03:51:03

I'm looking for a Census lookup for Henry (Henery?) Demas Hardy. His
son, my great grandfather was Martin Joseph, born in 1885, in Breaux
Bridge Louisiana (St Martin Parish). So, the 1890 Census would be
great, and if there are references to Henry in the earlier census,
that would be great. Thanks in advance!

Michael,

There is no 1890 census. Unfortunately it was burned and only fragments
remain. I am sending you the 1900 census image email.

Oh, ok, wow, I didn't know that. Any information on the fire? Where,
when? Just curious.. the history is just as fascinating as the
genealogy<g>

Most of the 1890 population schedules were badly damaged by a fire in the
Commerce Department Building in January 1921.
This website shows the few things that remain
