I've done almost all the research I can do over the internet
(U.S.Census).
Now I think I need to do some research out of the home.
What are some areas I need to research next ?
Where do I go to see Wills, Property taxes, etc?
Thanks,
Terry in Texas

I think that this is probably the best place for you to start.
http://www.cyndislist.com/ There's a good section on getting started.
BTW It's a good idea to help us to help you - specifying time period and
geographical area make it much easier to give specific help.
Good luck.

Very basic, but since you don't mention it: is there a Mormon family
history centre nearby? You can check online for whatever they have
available (likely lots, if it's the U.S.), then view at the centre.

where the will was probated. I don't know about property tax records,

of this information is online, it was probably put there by someone
researching the family before you. If you find what you are looking for,
it would be very kind of you to post your results in one of the county
or family pages that Cyndi's List will take you to. A caution: you might
be surprised when you start tracking information down. One of my
ggggrandfathers settled in Bastrop County, TX in 1848; he died in
Burleson County (where his will is on file) in 1863; he is buried in Lee
County. All three events were in the exact same geographic location: the
border between Bastrop and Burleson was shifted sometime between 1848
and 1863, and around 1870 Lee County was carved out of portions of
Bastrop and Burleson. This sort of shifting is quite common, as well as
frustrating. Incidentally, where are you in Texas and what counties are
you interested in? If you are in or near Austin the State Library,
located on the Capitol grounds, has a very nice collection of
genealogical information.

In Texas, probated wills are kept by the County Clerk in the county
where the will was probated. I don't know about property tax records,

Welcome,
Add on to Allen's post.
Ft. Worth and Dallas libraries and some of the metroplex suburban
cities have noteable collections of
genealogical information.
