Looking for someone in Sacramento

Trying to trace a Constantin Baranoff, last heard of in Sacramento, probably
around 1900. Anyone got any ideas on how to find him?

He was born in Russia about 1857, moved to England where he became a
naturalised British citizen. Some time in the 1880s he may have gone to New
York and then by sea to California.

What other information, if any, do you have about Constantin? Names
of his parents, brothers and/or sisters, wife if he was ever married,
his occupation, why he would have wanted to move to the US? In the
1930's and after there are entries with this surname in the Sacramento
area and I'm speculating that they might be his son or some other
namesake relative, but I was trying to find out if you might have
information that might tie it all together.

I have no information on any of the above.

wife if he was ever married,

He had a wife, Ruth Mary Ann Wall, and son, Constantin William, that he
appears to have abandoned in London. Marriage was 1881, soon born 1882.

his occupation,

In the UK 1881 Census he's listed as a commercial clerk.

why he would have wanted to move to the US?

That I don't know. His wife ran off to New York with another man in 1887 so
she may have abandoned him rather than the other way round. Constantin may
have gone after her. The child appears to have been left with his
grandmother either way.

Tantalising :-)
