Hello Wonderful SKSs,
Could some one find Thomas Murphy on the 1850 Census DOB about 1809. One source
is he was born in Ireland or Virginia / West Virginia. I only need the
citation. On HQ, I am not able to do any search on the 1850, but can find by
roll and page. F.Y.I., At least three of his children married three of my Starr
relatives.
George Washington Murphy M. July 20, 1863 Wellsburg, Brooke, Virginia / West
Virginia, USA Nancy Jane Starr
Margaret Amelia Murphy M. about 1860 Per the 1900 Census Jacob Starr
Elizabeth Murphy M. January 02, 1863 Wellsburg, Brooke, Virginia / West
Virginia, USA Joseph Starr (F.Y.I., On the 1900 Census they have two Murphy
children living with them a nephew and a niece(?).)
He is on the 1860 Census under Series: M653 Roll: 1337 Page: 549. His mother
may be listed as the second E. Murphy about 78 years old.
I suspect they moved from Washington County Pennsylvania to Brooke County,
Virginia / West Virginia between 1848 - 1851. This is based on the 1860 Census
showing where the children were born. However the counties do abut each other.

Re: 1850 Citation needed
Try this family in Ohio, Virginia:
Year: 1850; Census Place: District 44, Ohio, Virginia; Roll: M432_966;
Page: 21
I think that the age is a bit off for Thomas, but the names of the
children match up (Washington instead of George or G.W.), and all born
in Pennsylvania, which is off for Thomas, who is shown born in Virginia
in the 1860.
Ohio County, Virginia/West Virginia is adjacent to Brooke County.
hope that is it,
Cathy

Hello Cathy,
OMG. You have done it again. Other researchers had the wife as Elizabeth nee
Brown. The S. J. age 12 on the 1860 matches the Sarah J. on the 1850 age 2.
If I don't stop finding these WV relatives I am going to find out your husbands
family and mine are related 8>)
