Reginald Giles - born 1875

This is a long shot but I'm hoping that someone with access to US
death records or census records may be able to help me.

I have a relative, Reginald Giles, who was born 9th February 1875 in
Portsea, England. I believe that he emigrated from the UK possibly
soon after WW1. All that the family know is that they lost touch with
him.

Is anyone with able to spot him on any US records of this era?

Apologies for the somewhat vague question - but being unfamilar with
US records (as a Brit) - I'm not even really sure how to phrase the
question.

I find a Reginald H. Giles, age 28, in Buffalo, NY, in the year
1900. He's shown as a boarder - one among many - and his
occupation is bookkeeper. Birthplace is shown as England.
Might this be the person you're looking for?

US Census, 1900, New York, Erie County, Ward 21, Buffalo

Many thanks for looking but I don't think this one's a match. From
1892 to 1904 he was in the Royal Navy. When he enlisted he gave his
age as "barman" but I've never found a post-navy occupation for him.
