Chelsea Hospital records - 1807

Legg inn av Radar » 07 mai 2007 05:17:30

I have an ancestor who had a leg amputated in Sept/Oct 1807, in the
York/Chelsea Hospital. He then was granted a Chelsea out patients
pension as he was in the Army - the 23rd Regiment of Foot, which I
believe became the Royal Welch Regiment..
I would like to find out why the operation, was he wounded in battle?
and if so, where?
Thanks
Radar.
