California divorce records

Does anyone know where I can get free info on California divorces? My
father and his first wife were divorced between 1932 and 1935 or 1936
and I am curious as to the exact date.
Thanks for any info.

Another thought......is it possible the records would be found in the
library. Here in Florida there are Florida birth and marriage records in
the libraries. Don't know about divorces. Could someone living in
California check it out for me please.
TIA,
Carolyn

Thanks Gerry. My Dad was in the service but his first wife was living
in Southern California (I think) Dad was stationed in San Diego.

Where was your father and first wife residing in the 1932-1936 period?

They might have jumped across the California-Nevada border for a
quickie in Nevada.

The California Department of Health Services only has records from
1962-1983.
If you need a certified copy of the actual divorce decree, you'll need
to contact the Superior Court in the county where the divorce was filed.

I found marriage and divorce info including copies of the actual
documents in my relatives military service and pension records.
