Hello All,

http://www.findagrave.com/ and / or http://www.interment.net look for your
relatives. Add them to findagrave if they are not listed.

I see just about 3,700 for England on findagrave.

There are a lot of gravestone sites out there. I believe Stuart Raymond
has published a book(!) "Monumental Inscriptions on the Web" with links
- available from http://www.Genfair.com on the Federation of FHS stand.

It seems that there is a trend to use the term 'Memorial Inscriptions'
rather than 'Monumental Inscriptions' in the UK - think I prefer
"Memorial Inscriptions"

Some sites:

http://www.FamilyHistoryOnline.net/ - our PAYG site has over a million
names from memorial inscriptions in England and Wales and some photos.

http://www.memorialinscriptions.org.uk/ - National Archive of Memorial
Inscriptions - PAYG - mainly for Norfolk

But with an extra hyphen:

http://www.memorial-inscriptions.org.uk/ - Memorial Inscriptions from
churchyards and cemeteries in Cheshire, Staffordshire & Shropshire

The gravestone recording season is now open in the UK and there are
plenty of graveyards that still need to be recorded. Please check with
the local family history society to see if you can help or to make sure
that the one you've got an eye on hasn't already been recorded. (I know
of one yard with 50 memorials that appears to have been recorded five
times!)

How to do it: see http://www.gravematters.org.uk/ by Jill Muir

A useful little booklet, if you can get it is, "Rayments's notes on
recording Monumental Inscriptions" 4th edition, revised by P.Patterson FFHS
