Lookup request: 1930 Seminole OK census
HeritageQuest has only a partial 1930 census and I don't know if other
sources have more or not. I'm trying to locate Robert (or Bob)
Blalock in Seminole County, OK in the 1930's. I know he attended a
funeral in 1937 and was listed in the deceased's obituary as from
Konawa, OK and attending with wife (unnamed) and his son J. Don
Blalock.
Robert had siblings born from 1872 to 1891 but I have no other clues
to when he was born.
Thanks for any help.

The WW I Draft Records list a Robert Cleary Blalock of Payne Co, OK (b. 21

Robert J. Blalock of Tulsa, OK (b. 12 Mar 1880), if any of these sound

Re: Lookup request: 1930 Seminole OK census
There are several Robert Blalock's in Oklahoma in the 1930 Federal
Census, but none in Seminole County. I did not see any notes at the
ancestry site to indicate that they do not have the full census for
Oklahoma.
Of course, the things that would help the most with trying to find your
Robert would be his birth date and/or name of his wife. I did try
looking for the son, but did not find any Don or Donald Blalock's with a
father named Robert or Bob. Since no age is mentioned for Robert's son
in that obituary, then it's possible that he was not yet born as of the
taking of the 1930 census.
Do you have that obituary handy? Who was it for and what other names
(and relationships to the deceased) are in there? It might be possible
to locate Robert Blalock by locating the other people who were at the
funeral, or at least finding other details on them (such as place of birth).

Re: Lookup request: 1930 Seminole OK census
Thanks very much for the help, Cathy. Since you found Blalocks in
Oklahoma in the 1930 census, your source was more complete than mine -
Heritage Quest's record shows no Blalocks of any given name in 1930.
And I don't know for sure Robert was in Seminole County in 1930 so
it's possible one of the Roberts you found might be my guy.
I have no birth date or wife's name for Robert Blalock. What I do
know is:
The obituary of Walter David Blalock says:
"Among the out-of-town relatives and friends who were here for the
funeral services were" ... "Mr. & Mrs. Bob Blalock, and son J. Don,
all of Konawa". (Walter David died on 6 Sep 1937 in Marlow, Stephens
Co., OK, but I don't have the date of the burial or of the obituary.
Konawa is in Seminole County, OK.)
Walter David's family were:
Father: James Robert Blalock b: about 1846
Mother: Louisa Adeline Coats b: 18 Feb 1849
siblings:
William Green Blalock b: Abt. 1872
Hinton Blalock b: 15 Aug 1883
James Sylvester Blalock b: 3 Jun 1875
Walter David Blalock b: 18 Feb 1887
Oather Cleburn Blalock b: 1890
Sleta Mae Blalock b: 1 May 1891
and my cousin tells me there were two other brothers named Robert and
Allen. Allen is said to have died as a child but I have no other
information about Robert. (My cousin's information came from a family
bible.)
I have located records of the other siblings but Robert is not
mentioned in other records.
I've also been looking quite awhile for James Robert Blalock's father
but that's a brick wall for another time.
Thanks alot,
Les

Robert Blaylock, 33, born in MO, with wife Elsie and three daughters.
He was a farm laborer
Robert L. Blalack (could be Blalock), 60, born in Arkansas, with wife
Sarah. Worked for the railroad.
Robert Blaylock, 36, born in Arkansas. Married, but an inmate in the

When searching for 1930 hits at HQ, NEVER specify a state.
There are numerous Blalocks in OK in 1930, but since OK
isn't yet loaded, they don't show if you just search OK.

Thanks Cheryl,
I couldn't figure out how your getting those hits until I explored the
Browse function from the Advanced Search menu. Now I see how to
browse those images in Konawa, OK. Thanks!

There are numerous Blalocks in OK in 1930, but since OK
