Wisconsin 1895 and 1905 census on ancestry.com

Legg inn av saki » 21 feb 2007 22:38:06

I've been going through these two censuses since they went up on
ancestry.com a few days ago. Is anyone else noticing mising images and
indexing problems?

I found my great-grandparents and their family in the 1905 Wisconsin census
in the town of Brookfield, but not through either head of household or
wife's names (Hans and Catherine Petersen), but rather through one of the
children (Alfred, my grandfather). Then the record came up (albeit with the
family misidentified as from Norway rather than Denmark/Scheswig/Germany as
in other census records).

Catherine has a brother Andrew Petersen in Kenosha around this timeframe
but I can't find him, nor his wife Marie nor any of their six children.

A number of the pages (perhaps a quarter of my searches) result in no image
at all.

The database seems to have been launched 15 Feb 2007 and has already been
updated, so maybe ancestry.com knows there's a problem. Just wondered if
anyone else had noticed anything amiss?
