Family tree errors

Legg inn av Keith nuttle » 20 feb 2007 14:13:25

I am relatively new to the commercial online geneology database,
(ancestry.com, etc.) and have a question on corrrecting errors

Recently, when search my fathers family I found someone had placed my
greatgrandmother with my greatgranduncle. The correct relationships are
well documented in my family. I have tried to contact the person who
posted the information but have been unsuccessfully.

What should I do forget it, or is there another way of correcting the error?

Would this posting be done as a file submission or is there a specific
place to post information on suspected errors?

As Hugh said place your tree somewhere - put comments in the tree

regarding the error and that your tree has correct situation

Ask Rootsweb for a web site http://www.rootsweb.com/
top second column
Create Html version of family tree and place on your site

This should get indexed by search engines such as Google and anybody
searching for the names hopefully will notice your site
