symbol on date

Legg inn av singhals » 15 jan 2007 17:22:57

I have before me a copied family group sheet.

Husband and Wife show with only one date among 'em.
In the death-date field on both, is the entry of a
lower-case p with a hyphen above it and the number 1833.

The children of this marriage were all born prior to 1825
and all died after 1857.

Since I don't have the symbol in any of my fonts I can't
reproduce it. I also can't find anything that looks even
vaguely like it on any of the abbreviation sites.

Can anyone confirm/refute that the barred-p means AFTER?

Thanks.
