Pedigree Resource File Turnaround Time

Legg inn av Ann Avery Hunter » 03 jan 2007 08:01:17

On July 2 I submitted four databases to Familysearch.org for their Pedigree
Resource File. I have continued to check their status on the site, and it
has been "received" for the last 6 months. Is this normal? I had heard that
it might take about 3 months from another poster, but 6 months seems to be a
bit much. Has anyone else submitted to them lately?

They have been getting heavier volume of late, something like a million
names every three weeks.

The last DVD, numbered 128, came out with data to late spring, so we
are actually due for the disc that will likely contain yuor data. That
should be either 129 or 130.

It took them just under nine months to add my pedigree resource file. I can
only assume that they may be busy. I believe that all of their workers are
volunteers and the interest in family history is at an all time high these
past few years.

It's not what you could call consolation, but ...

another list has discussed this and apparently the delay is
caused by the switch-over from CD to DVD. The DVDs are
filling up as rapidly as the CDs did, and there's little
point to putting a CD's worth onto a DVD, so they seem to be
waiting to get enough to fill a DVD before putting one out.

Thanks! It's good to know that all of my years of research didn't fall into
a hole somewhere.

LOL! No, it's there. I was just about to give up hope on mine as well
before they got around to adding it.

Is this where they send out the free kit and requesting a family tree?

No, PRF is where you go to their site and upload a GED. I
b'lieve you're thinking of the Genealogy.com tree from
several years back.
