Ancestry's 1910 census issue

Legg inn av Alan » 28 nov 2006 04:29:31

Previously I downloaded an image from Ancestry,com..I wanted to start
there and browse a few pages before and after it to se who the
neighbors were and look for possible other relatives, and now I can't
seem to locate this page or anyone on it.

The Page is from New York,Suffolk County,Town of Brookhaven.
Supervisers district 2
enumeration district 1349
ward 7th 2D
Page 7A
Peter Snyter Head
??? Snyter Wife
Victoria Thompson Sister in law
Edward Thompson Brother in law

I have also done a search for everyone else on the page in question,
with no success.
Where did these pages go?
Ancestrys answer so far is to submit my question via the error report
button on the page in question, Huh?

It would seem that the entire enumeration district for this county got
dropped from the index and database.

Can anyone else find it thru one of the other sites and let me know
that it does exist at least, and tell me where it was found,
I can provide further details if needed
Thanks

Snyder. If you're searching on this, that's why you didn't find it.

Mamie

I found it on Heritage Quest as series T624, roll 1081, page 179.

In fact, Enumeration Districts 1349 through 1356 seem to be missing from
Ancestry's images (1348 & lower, and 1357 & higher ED numbers are viewable,
at least). The family you are looking for does appear among the Heritage
Quest images (headed by Peter SNYDER, not SNYTER, however). I've reported
to Ancestry the eight missing ED's --it will be interesting to see what
response (if any) they make!

It was origionally indexed as Snyter,on Ancestry before their last

update (Anyname Index) and completion of the 1910 census.
I'm glad someone else noticed and reported the missing areas.
Thier response was an automated one, telling me to use the button on
the problem page to submit my complaint.I didn't know of the other
missing districts.

Thanks for taking the time to look and report back.At least now I know
it isn't something I'm missing.

I tried looking under that spelling also, along with every other name
on the page that I have.It turns out that someone else noticed this
district as well as several others are now missing.

Thanks for looking it up

ancestry.co.uk has certainly accepted and acted upon most of my suggestions

missing and bad images they take seriously
but they may take up to one year to appear
