What Barbara has not told everyone is to view these records one must

Again Ancestry.com is up to it's entrapment capers so beware.
If you take this offer up and do not cancel before the end of the free
period Ancestry.com will bill you so beware, you have been warned.
Hope this helps stop some falling into the trap.

This is no different than the supposed 'free trial offers' from AOL or
some of the other service providers that come regularly in the mail.
It's one of those things where each person has to decide if 1) giving
that out in order to see the information is important enough for them
and 2) if they trust themselves to cancel before the trial period ends.
So, while this isn't perfect for everybody, there are still a lot of
people who will benefit from the trial, and I don't consider it to be a
trap as much as an unfair burden to put the decision to discontinue onto
the user (I'd prefer it be up to the person to decide to continue,
instead, and have it automatically expire at the end of the trial period).

What "trap"?
Ancestry warns you up front that if you don't cancel withing the
alloted time they will bill you.
If a person avails themself of this free trial without reading all the
details it is their own fault if they incur an charge- not Ancestry's.
All this BS about protecting people from their own decisions is absurd.
