Hello there,
If anyone has an account at the http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ site
please could they lookup the marriage of James Benbow Murphy to
Mary Dougan in 1924 in Glasgow's Eastwood district.
I have accounts with 1837online & Ancestry.co.uk but they only offer me
listings for England & Wales.
With thanks
Fay

168hrs to use 6 UKP worth of credits, any left over are added to the
next purchase. Note that Eastwood is not in Glasgow, it isn't even in
the same county as it is in Renfrewshire (see also "faux pas" <g>).

Scotlands People records are pay-per-view not pay-per-period; you have
168hrs to use 6 UKP worth of credits, any left over are added to the
next purchase. Note that Eastwood is not in Glasgow, it isn't even in
the same county as it is in Renfrewshire (see also "faux pas" <g>).

Since you are online kindly tell us why we ought to use our credits up
to help you for no return.
You know where the site is so register and pay the six pounds for thirty
credits.
It will cost you one credit for the page and a further five credits for
the image.
You can the save the image to your hard drive or print it out, it is
your choice.
IMHO there is no excuse for laziness.

Re: Scottish marriage lookup request
David,
For the same reason I have done lookups for people using my
Ancestry.co.uk account & at 1837online using my credits
However I no longer need this lookup as a very kind man called
Ewan has offered to do lookup for me at the Edinburgh reg office.

Re: Scottish marriage lookup request
Perhaps because there are people out there who are polite, helpful, and
don't use the fact that this is the internet and semi-anonymous to be
rude.
If I had any spare credits at the moment, I at least would have gotten
an index page for Fay.

credits shows no such marriage in Renfrewshire; it does however
produce one offering for Lanarkshire in er... Eastwood, so it looks
like we also have the complication of one of the registration
districts which either straddled the county boundary or has been
transferred at some time in the past.

Now that you mention it, a quick check of the index using my expired
credits shows no such marriage in Renfrewshire; it does however
produce one offering for Lanarkshire in er... Eastwood, so it looks
like we also have the complication of one of the registration
districts which either straddled the county boundary or has been
