Where is Solomon Weaver hiding in 1860?

Hello SKSs and Mystery Hunters,

I find Solomon Weaver, DOB March 19, 1823 in Virginia (West Virginia)
and family in 1850 US Census. Reel #: M432-935 Page #: 94b Division 5,
Barbour, Virginia, USA. F.Y.I., He is about 27 years. Wife's family
are on same sheet, lines 14-16.

Barbour County in 1860 should still be listed under Virginia.

I find him and family as Sollomon Weaver, on the 1870 Census, Elk
Township, Barbour, West Virginia, USA. He is about 48.

I find him and family as Soloman Weaver, on the 1880 Census, Pleasant
District, Barbour, West Virginia, USA. He is listed as 55, but the
image looks like 53.

Tried several name variations, blank name but age and / or sex on HQ,
but no luck. Where is he and family hiding on the 1860 census?

Hi Mike,

I tried various searches also and didn't come up with anything. Was Solomon
in the Civil War? Maybe they're on a page that is missing or damaged or
illegible.

Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

I searched for him and his children and wife, and came up empty no
matter how many different ways I tried to look. I also tried her
parents (Henry and Abigail Duckworth), who were in Barbour County in the
1850, and can't find them in the 1860, either. Judging from the
handwriting, it could be that the indexers really mangled the name
Weaver, but Duckworth seems easily readible for others in the county
with that surname, and the Duckworth's should either be in that county
in 1860 or in the one where they at as of the 1870, and they're not
showing up anywhere.

It could be that a bunch of households were missed by the enumerator. I
know that in my line and my husband's line, we've got some missing
people in various census years, and even going page by page hasn't
turned them up yet.

Hello Cathy and Alida,

Thanks for looking. I thought maybe I was not looking hard enough.
These pages may be gone or missed as you indicated.

Alida, I do not know if this relative was in the civil war. Others in
his family were. From what other researchers found, I had relatives on
both sides.
