We would appreciate a lookup of data in "Russians to America, 1850-1896
Passenger and Immigration Lists".

We are searching for data on a Borma family. Matey Borma with wife Theresa,
and children John, Celestina, and James, arriving in the USA in 1896. No
other information is known except 1900 census shows their nationality as
being from Poland/Russia.

Appreciate any information available. Thanks in advance.

Joe,

Was unable to find any Borma's in the list. In fact, there were no names
beginning with B who arrived in 1896 in the list.

Joe in Texas: My little gray cells may be fading, but doesn't
Russ to Am index only New York arrivals???

Anyway, Since your Borma are in 1900 Texas, I would expect them to
arrive thru Galveston. Galveston doesn't show anything to me except a
Marie Dolenczeck who arrives on 16 Nov 1905 on the Hannover from
Bremen going to her uncle, Mateusz Borma in West, TX? Yours??

Now that might be a hit alright!! Have to check with my friend who is

really the one searching for information. We have no idea where our Borma
came in to the US, and Galveston is a likely spot alright. Will get back to
you. Thanks a lot.
