How do I find which ward included 117 E 104th Street, Manhattan Borough
for the 1900 US Census?

Would someone be kind enough to tell me?

Evening, David...

These are the steps I use.

1. Find the address using Mapquest. Hope that the address is still active.

2. 117 E 104 Street is shown between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue.

3. Using Ancestry.com find 1900=>New York=>Manhattan and search
for Park Avenue. Keep looking until you find 104th Street within an
enumerator district between Park and Lexington. District 902 fills the
bill.
Pages did not show a ward.

4. Begin searching from page 1 of District 902, hoping that it covers both
odd and even addresses. It does...117 104th Street is found on Ancestry
page 16
of 33. Family is listed as
Sarah Cain, head, July 1860, age 39, Unk marital status, 5 born, 5 living,
NY, Ireland, Ireland
Daughter Annie/Annia, April 1878, age 22, S, NY, Ireland, NY
Daughter Nellie, June 1879, age 20, S, NY, Ireland, NY, Bookkeeper
Daughter Rose, June 1881, age 18, S, NY, Ireland, NY
Daughter Julia, August 1883, age 16, S, NY, Ireland, NY
Daughter Sarah, July 1885, age 14, S, NY, Ireland, NY

Let me know if that helps...Bob
