WARNING: Avoid Newspaper Archives.com

I have had one problem after another since subscribing.

They double billed my annual subscription. Their software is slow, clunky,
and unresponsive. Their support is practically non-existent.

Over the weekend--and for the umpteenth time--I could not access my account.
I did exactly what their online FAQ said to do but their "fix" didn't work.
When I would sign in with my user name and password, I simply got a message
telling me to take out a subscription, but as I am on only the second month
of a one year subscription I know that can not be the real problem.

Their customer service "team" doesn't work weekends so I called them this
morning two hours after they supposedly opened. The first 12 calls to the
support number listed on their web site went unanswered, on the next call a
machine answered with several menu choices. I punched the buttons and
finally got tech support. Or to be more correct, I got the tech support
voicemail which said to leave my name and number at the beep. Then when the
beep came, I got a message saying that they couldn't take my number as there
were already too many messages and the box was full.

I've been on the Internet more than ten years, so I have dealt with a lot of
customer service-type problems and have met a few unresponsive support
staffs but these guys take the cake.

Their service is not cheap, and their coverage is very spotty (in both a
geographical and time sense), so, even with viable customer service, I would
suggest prospective users think twice.

Godfrey offers this as part of their subscriptions. The site has never
worked for me so I gave up on it.
