National Geographic Genographic Project

I'm interested in the Genographic Project whereby one can get (for $90) and
analysis of his DNA markers (haplotype or haplogroup?) to show distant
ancestry (not surname genealogy).

The sample page on the web site which shows a typical report is too small to
be read. I wonder if anyone has done this test and if the information
received is really all that informative or useful. And if the map they
provide shows the route of one's ancestors over the past 100,000 years this
would only be useful in the CONTEXT of the routes of other major, human
groups. At leases, so it seems to me.

Would appreciate any elightenment.
