have to "register for free" with Ancestry. At least they're not

back about them sending their newsletter out and how hard it was to get

back about them sending their newsletter out and how hard it was to get
it to stop coming (come to think of it, I haven't seen it come to my
mailbox for awhile - looks like the filters are working!)

I have never had a problem (I have three "accounts" with them, thanks
to a weak memory) - all one has to do is indicate in one's account
details that one doesn't want them to search on one's behalf, let one
know the results, send the news-letter etc.

I have a private email and a "junk mail" email address I use for things
like this and anything I need to register for on the net and have that
mail sent directly to my Delete file then I scan it for anything I do
want and then dump it all.
