Legg inn av William Ridge » 25 mai 2005 16:18:06

I am searching for the family of Josephine McFadden. I believe she lived in
Philadelphia PA and would be about 10 years old in 1860.

Thank you.

William, don't you know anything else about her? Her husband or even a child or
where she was born, or some thing that might be useful for us to help you.

Although she is my great grandmother I know very little about her.
Josephine was born in Pennsylvania (probably Philadelphia) in about 1850. I
believe her father was John (or Jack) McFadden.

The only Josephine McFadden that was born in this time frame and whose
father is named John was born in Maine. Mother's name is Caroline and
siblings are Nancy, James and Susan. If you think this is a match I can
email you the 1850 and 1860 census images.

If you go to http://www.rootsweb.com Family Trees and query on Josephine McFadden
you will find both Josephine listed above as well as the Josephine listed in
my previous message. Perhaps this will help you sort out who is who.

There is a Josephine McFadden, aged 10 in the county of Lycoming, PA.
Armstrong Township, post office is Williamsport
Roll: M653_1136
Page: 20
Year: 1860

The household is:
Jackson Mcfadden, 42, Plasterer, born PA
Edward, 14
Mary, 12
Josephine, 10
Georgeketta (?), 7
Harriet, 4
Lucy, 2
Theodore McFadden, 19, Laborer
Triferna Ephhis, 32, domestic (I can't make out her last name)
John Epphis, 5
Emma McCleare, 22, Domestic
Charles McCleare, 1

All are born in Pennsylvania. The enumerator did use a lowercase 'f'
for Jackson's name, but then an uppercase "F" for Harriet and Theodore.
The household spans two pages, with Harriet starting off the second page.

Hope that helps,

Cathy

Is she the Josephine McFadden that was married to William Forepahr?
Worldconnect has one listing for her. It says William and Josephine were
married about 1872 in Chicago, IL. Maybe she wasn't living in PA in 1860.
