1930 California Census Lookup
I have access to HeritageQuest, but the 1930 Federal Census is not
indexed. Can someone please look up this family? I only need the
microfilm information to access the page myself --
Worthen Burrows (would be about 47 years of age in 1930)
Fannie/Fanny (wife)
Margaret (daughter)
Frances (daughter)
John E. (son)
Virginia (daughter)
I have not been able to find Worthen in any census prior to 1920, though
he is supposed to have been born in California. This family was in
Sacramento, CA in 1920. At some point they moved to Solano County, but
I don't know when.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Re: 1930 California Census Lookup
Fanny and the children are on this page:
Year: 1930; Census Place: Napa, Napa, California; Roll: 180; Page: 7A;
Enumeration District: 13; Image: 335.0.
The husband should be on the previous page, but in ancestry, the page
that is shown does not reveal the bottom lines -- the page should go to
line 100, but you can only see up to line 97.
Hopefully, HeritageQuest will show you the entire page.

Re: 1930 California Census Lookup
Hi, Tara!
Yes -- that's them. As a matter of fact, I was pulling up that page
just as you were writing your post!
After some digging in the California death records, I was able to ID
possible siblings, which helped immensely. It's the 1900 census that
puts them together.
Thanks!

Re: 1930 California Census Lookup
Hi, Cathy --
Thank you for this information, but I'm having a problem finding the
page. When I pull up Napa, Napa, California, it states it is
enumeration district 28?
I'm sure I'm making a silly error, and when I get back to it this
afternoon I'll figure out what I'm doing wrong! But in the mean time I
wanted to thank you for your help.
Thanks!

Re: 1930 California Census Lookup
Hello,
You're welcome. I'm glad that you're now finding Worthen and his family
in the other census records, too.
I went back to ancestry to see what was listed at the top of the actual
census page. It states that it's enumeration district 28-13. Hopefully
knowing that little distinction can help you find the right page (I
don't know why ancestry can't list it exactly as it's shown on the page).
