Ship manifest question

Legg inn av dsk » 13 apr 2005 02:48:34

While searching through Ancestry.com for ship's manifest for my gr/gf,
I noticed that the manifest only had 2 pages and they were both the
same. When I searched for other family members, I noticed there were
numerous pages to a manifest (21). The ship, the Stura arrived in NY
on January 28, 1887. Either my gr/gm and my gm came on another ship
or if they did come at the same time, many of the pages are missing
from the data online. Has anyone else come across this problem?

Also, when I found other relatives on Ellis Island.org, I found my
other gr/gm under her maiden name so I am searching for the *missing*
gr/gm that I discussed above by both her maiden and married name on
Ancestry. I did find a person under my gr/gms maiden name, whose age
fits, on a ship called
Britannia that arrived in January of 1888 but my gm, who was a little
over
one year old at that time, was not on any of the 21 pages I
printed out. In many cases I have seen where children only months
old
are listed. Is it possible that my gm was not listed even if her
mother was? Any search suggestions?

Thank you for your time.

In one of my family lines, the father came at one time, then the mother, and
then later she went back to Europe to get the children.
So families don't need to come together.
