Greetings to list from Berkshire, UK,
I have just managed to find cousin abovementioned on the SSDI:
Ossie Mullins, b. 23 Nov 1905, d. 25 Feb 1994
Last Residence: 23226 Richmond, Henrico, VA
SS No. 097-14-5350, Issued: New York
He was actually born in Wales, UK as:
MULLINS, Victor Oswald, Dec1/4 Merthyr Tydfil 11a 727
He emigrated approx. 1930, was a schoolteacher related to Caroline Mullins who
married Timothy Sullivan in Merthyr in 1900.
Am seeking any info on whatever happened to him between 1930 & 1994.
Best Regards,
Cedric.

Re: Ossie MULLINS
Here's a few odds and ends I found:
1994 Phone and Address Directory
Name: OSSIE MULLINS
Address: 300 S RANDOLPH ST 214
City: RICHMOND (Ashland)
State: VA
Zipcode: 23220
Phone: (804) 358-9184
Name: OSSIE MULLINS
Address: 3241 WOODROW AVE
City: RICHMOND (Henrico Co.)
State: VA
Zipcode: 23222
Phone: (804) 555-1212
These are the two directory listings for Ossie Mullins in Richmond in 1994.
In looking on the map, the first one looks like it's actually in Ashland,
Hanover County, not Richmond. The second looks like it's probably your guy.
Don't pay any attention to that phone number, it's the phone number for
directory assistance, which probably means the number was unlisted. I looked
through the current phone book and didn't see any Mullins currently living
on Woodrow Avenue.

DEATHS METRO
Compiled from news sources;
Richmond Times - Dispatch;
Feb 27, 1994; pg. B-3
The Richmond newspaper is the Times-Dispatch and they appear to have a death
notice online for him (at the above url) but they want $2.50US to download
it, which isn't much, but I'm not sure it would be worth it if it's only a
death notice. If it's an obituary, it may contain some personal info that
would be more along the lines of what you want. I've had pretty good luck in
the past with having folks at the newspaper send me odds and ends for free
just by calling and asking. That was in other departments though, not the
archives. I don't know how friendly they are. They seem to be either
overwhelmed with work this morning or on a very long coffee break. I've been
getting their answering machine for the last 2 hours. I'll keep trying
though and maybe, at least, find out if there's an obituary or just a death
notice

Re: Ossie MULLINS
Cheers Tara for your info,
Could these 2 be father & son?
Wales, would assume he continued his vocation, have been scouring VA library &
education databases to no avail.

Only 2 days after, is probably only death notice. Being a teacher when left
Wales, would assume he continued his vocation, have been scouring VA library &
