I am trying to find information on part of my family that emigrated to USA
about 1889, my grandfathers brother emigrated using his brothers name which
was DAVID MORGANS his real name was THOMAS OLIVER MORGANS, he was born in
1869 and he married a lady called ELIZABETH who was 5 years older than him.
I know they had two sons ARTHUR OLIVER and LLYWELYN STANLEY born in 1903 and
1905 respectivly STANLEY died in August 1929, I also belive that David and
Elizabeth had a daughter called ANNABELLA and this is where I can go no
further. I found this info from the 1920 census of Cook County and from
other family records in Wales.I know that they lived at Cicero Avenue No
2238 I belive
Hope someone can either help or point me in the right direction

Re: morgans family
David and Elizabeth are still alive as of the 1930 Federal Census for
Illinois. They're in Cook County, on Cicero Avenue, and a neice, Mary
J. Jones, is living with them. All three are listed as being born in
Wales. Date of immigration for David and Elizabeth is 1890, date of
immigration for Mary Jones is 1914.
Their information is as follows:
Year: 1930; Census Place: Chicago, Cook, Illinois; Roll: 470; Page: 2A;
Enumeration District: 1255; Image: 57.0.
Morgans, David, Head, 60, age at marriage 34, born Wales, parents born
Wales, working as a contractor in the plastering industry, Naturalized
Morgans, Elizabeth, wife, 63, age at marriage 37, born Wales, parents
born Wales, no occupation, naturalized,=
Jones, Mary J., neice, 35, single, born Wales, parents born Wales,
working as a milliner in a shop, naturalized.
There is an Arthur Morgans and his wife Sarah also in that same census,
living on Cicero Avenue as well. Arthur is listed as being born in
Illinois, and his parents as being born in England. Sarah is listed as
being born in Pennsylvania and her parents being born in Pennsylvania.
Their information is as follows:
Year: 1930; Census Place: Chicago, Cook, Illinois; Roll: 470; Page: 12A;
Enumeration District: 1256; Image: 125.0.
Morgans, Arthur, Head, 28, married at age 28, born Illinois, parents
born England, working in the business trade (I couldn't decipher his
occupation
Morgans, Sarah, wife, 25, marriage at age 25, born Pennsylvania, parents
born Pennsylvania, no occupation
David and Elizabeth are also in the 1910 census, and a daughter, Anna B.
(that's what it looks like to me) is shown with them. The census states
that they've been married for 12 years, both of them are from Wales,
both immigrated in 1890. What's interesting is that Anna is shown as
being born in Wales, also immigrating in 1890, which should have been
difficult since she's only 11 years of age (goes to show that the
enumerator wasn't paying close attention to what he was writing). Their
information is:
Morgans, David, Head, 40, married for 12 years, 1st marriage, born
Wales, parents born Wales, immigrated in 1890, naturalized, plasterer
Morgans, Elizabeth, wife, 40, 1st marriage, 3 children born, 3 still
living, born Wales, parents born Wales, immigrated 1890, no occupation
Morgans, Anna B., daughter, 11, born Wales, parents born Wales,
immigrated 1890
Morgans, Arthur, son, 7, born Illinois, parents born Wales
Morgans, Stanley, son, 6, born Illinoise, parents born Wales
In the 1900 census, David is living as a boarder, although he states
that he's been married for 2 years. He's in Cook County, Jefferson
township. His information is:
Year: 1900; Census Place: Chicago Ward 27, Cook, Illinois; Roll: T623
279; Page: 22A; Enumeration District: 840.
Foster, Sarah, Head, (I'm not going into details on the household head)
Foster, Kurt, Son
Briswell, Lizzie, Sister
Morgan, David, boarder, born Oct 1868, married for 2 years. Born Wales,
parents born Wales, immigrated 1873, been in U.S. for 27
years,naturalized, plasterer
Bittinger, Earl C., boarder
Bittinger, Freer J., boarder
So far I haven't been able to find Elizabeth and Anna in the 1900
Federal Census.
Let me know if you'd like copies of those census pages.
