I'm trying to find a recommendation for genealogy software that outputs
webpages in a more dynamic format, such as using DHTML or generating a
javascript. I have a portal that I'd like to integrate the output into, and
the way most of these packages work that I've seen is to just spit out 100
pages of HTML with links between them all. The portal software really
doesn't work for this because I'd have to add headers and footers to each
page and edit all the links. Then as soon as I get more info, I have to
generate all the pages over again. That's really a huge amount of work, I'm
looking for something that just outputs one page that can pull the data from
a SQL database or generates a dynamic page that can pull the content from a
flat file or something along those lines. Anything of the sort exist?
Thanks!

You might want to consider phpGedView or one of the similar packages. I've
been using phpGedView with apache for about a year now and have been pleased
with it. Basically, it takes your gedcom and creates web pages on demand.
Information is available at: http://phpgedview.sourceforge.net

HAHAHA!!!!! I don't think it's what I want, but someone over there

work for 90% of what I need. Thanks for the pointer

Oh, that's an ASP model vs. an installable software package. Damn,
neat stuff but no good if I can't install the software on my own machine.

thanks, cool stuff, i may just use this (if my dad likes it) even though it

it looks customizable so i'll have to play with the template design stuff.
