PAF on a website

Legg inn av Blasting Cap » 01 mar 2005 16:33:18

I have the current version of PAF, that I had deployed to a website.
I've since changed my hosting, going from a Unix based host, to one that
will support both traditional ASP and DotNet architecture.

I know that the web pages will continue to work and display as they
should have, but just curious to know whether anyone's incorporated
their family tree on the web into a DotNet compatible system, and if so,
how?

For those who don't know, asp is the suffix to pages done in traditional
ASP code, .aspx is the dotnet extention. .htm and .html are the ones
that are compatible with the older html code.

Am I correct to assume you did not mean you put the PAF program on a
website,
but rather had PAF generate a website of your genealogy and those website
pages
are what you on a website, right?

Well, if someone answers you privately please post it to the list, I want to
know too.

..htm and .html web pages are universally compatible and should not be
a problem.

Server dependedent web pages would use the .asp/.aspx or the .php
format and these types of pages would have to be rebuilt if hosting
were moved to a different type of server.

Good luck
