Neen Help from Spanish Records

Legg inn av Stan Barras » 14 feb 2005 21:36:41

I am looking for the birth record of Manual Truch, year about 1826. He was
Spanish citizen and sailed from Cadiz, Spain in mid-1800s to New Orleans.
Does anyone know of place in Spain I may be able to write to get birth
record, etc. Sorry I do not know the town where he was born.
Thank you for any help.

For one thing, you might place your post on soc.genealogy.hispanic, if you
have not already done so.

Joe in Georgetown, Texas, USA
Return address is bogus.

Well, I should have checked soc.genealogy.hispanic first. I see you have
placed this post there. Good luck.

You had already covered yourself when you said: "if you have not already done
so." But now's a good time to point out that he should have Cross-posted (one
post to 2 groups) to the groups instead of Multi-posting (same separate post to
2 groups). One good reason is that with separate post, responses in each group
do not get seen by people following the other group and vice-versa. You may wind
up with 2 separate threads without the right hand knowing what the left is
doing, so to speak. A lot of synergy gets lost that way

Good luck.

Thanks Bob, for a good point. I have been seeing the problem, but I did not
think about the solution to it. Very straight forward.
