The W really looks like it could be Al. Check out the A in the first name
of the enumerator.

Did a little searching for California Aluminum, but nothing comes up right.

The rest of the description is just as hard to read. Doesn't make sense,
but looks a little like Cal - Almul Guas Exch. (g)

Good luck.

Joe in Georgetown, Texas, USA
Return address is bogus.

It's looking to me as though it says "Cal-Almond" and a Google returns plenty
of material on that one albeit mainly court cases. It does fit in with the
location.

Bob.

My $0.02, despite not having access to the image. There is a California
Almond Growers Exchange, which is the almond growers' marketing
organization. Could well be that Bob H. has hit this'n on the head.

The other (swell ol') Bob.

Thank you, Joe, Bob, and Bob! I kept seeing Cal-Walla or Cal-Wash ...

Any guess what an Almond Growers Assn would need a Civil Engineer for?
I wouldn't think you'd need one of those, unless he was engineering
civility at the meetings? (G)

I agree with S.O. Bob and can easily convince myself that the next words must
be "growers" and (above) "exch. That makes it say:
Cal-Almond Growers Exch
I'm pretty certain it's that.

It was/is a cooperative and he list is endless. Engineering for irrigation
projects, warehouses, processing plants, office structures, etc etc.

It's been a looooong time, but ISTR that the group developed machinery to
shell, sort and pack the product. Parenthetically, my mother worked for
the Cal Almond Growers Assn while we were in Sacramento in the late '40s.

Wierd. I'm more familiar with Associations that do little beyond
collect dues and send out meeting notices. (g) And Lobby Congress.
Odd to think of one that did/does more. Amazing what you can find out
on the lists. (g)

Thanks again,

Perhaps the word "cooperative" (and that's what it was) would make more sense to
you then? Google
Blue Diamond almonds
and you'll learn more about them than you ever cared to know.<g>

(G) Yes, OK, Cooperative, as in Farm Bureau. And thanks for the
suggestion .. you figure Blue Diamond will have a recipe for almond
cookies that uses almond paste (someone gave me can of the stuff).

Go to foodtv.com and enter "almond paste" in their recipe search. They have
quite a few that look pretty good.
