I'm curious to know what reccomendations you all have for genealogy
software. Personally I use PAF - a free download from http://www.familysearch.org.
Am I missing out however? I don't mind paying a fee for a better program
that has a clear advantage. PAF's limitation seems to be that it won't allow
hypertext links.
Which genealogy software is best?

This is a question that's asked and answered with regularity on this and

genealogy program -- it depends on too many subjective factors and really
boils down to what you're most comfortable with and how well it meets your
requirements. Beyond that, naming names and comparing features has been
done far too often for this to be a meaningful discussion.

I use Legacy, but I also use PAF to transfer GEDCOM files to Legacy, because
if I import the GEDCOMS directly into Legacy, the RINs get scrasmbled.

The RIN numbers should not get changed if you have the "Try to keep oridinal
ID numbers (RINs)" selection checked. Perhaps you also have to have the
"Fill all existing abandoned RINs" deselected.

I found a rather involved problem in one in one of their reports. Sent an
example and they had solved the problem the next day and had a fix in the
next update.

If you could supply Legacy support with a sample they would fix the problem.
