I may be even more obtuse than usual, but can anyone please tell me what the
entry "Boice British Subject, France" means in the 1881 British Census
Individual Record from http://www.familysearch.org please?

Thanks in advance.

Either

a) They were born in a place called "Boice" in France but they have British
Nationality (Father British perhaps).

or

b) It's an error and it really said "Born British Subject, France".

For info on finding birth records in france try....

(a few pop-ups and adverts but worth the long read)
