Just a follow-up post for posterity.... in case at some time in the future,
another person has a mountain of results to page through and they decide to
Google the newsgroups trying to find a solution.
Through my own stupidity and inattention, I managed to lock up my browser
and I had to start my search all over again. (After nearly being ill) I put
some extra thought into what to put into their search box and managed to
reduce my results from 78,000 to 6,900. I sorted by mother's name and ended
up having 10-12 minutes of paging to get to the results I needed. Of course,
the birth record I needed wasn't there, or more likely, it's there and I
have wrong info about the names involved. That's not the point, though. The
point is that I *MAY* be able to help folks reduce the number of results in
their birth searches. Perhaps not, it depends on the names and dates you're
looking for, but if you email me the info you have, I'll see what I can do.
This solution is probably only good if you have dates and are searching for
a place, like I was.

That's the first thing I did 2 days ago. There are 78, 197 results. I'm
beginning the third day of paging through the results and I'm up to
Butler. Yay! The further I get into the results the slower the pages load.
When I first started, it was taking 5-6 seconds to load each page. Now
it's averaging 18-20 seconds per page, sometimes as long as 45 seconds as
the load on their server changes.
