On an 1880 mortality schedule, the person's occupation is listed as CR.
Does anyone know what that means?

After viewing several mortality schedules, I suspect the transcriber
could not read the original entry . . . therefore entered "CR" (can't
read) in its place.

In what country was the mortality schedule issued? I am assuming the USA.

Could mean Carpenter/Contractor

CR is commonly used if the transcriber couldn't read the original entry. CR
= Can't Read.
