For reasons unknown to me I have several hundred or more Copies of... and
Shortcut to Copies of.... various documents in my My Documents folder.
Is there any way to delete these superfluous files without deleting them
individually? One possibility would be to delete all the documents and
restore the ones I want to keep from the Recycle Bin.
Can anyone help?

Re: My Documents
You could:
- "left click" the first file you want to delete and then
"shift left click" the last file. All the files between
will be selected. Then hit delete.
or you could:
- enter "ctrl-A" to select _all_ the files in the folder
and then "ctrl left click" the files that you want to
keep. Then hit delete.

Alternatively, if the files/folders are next to each other, putt he
cursor very slightly to one side of the first one, then drag the
cursor over all the others so they are highlighted, then hit delete or
the delete button.

Re: My Documents
You could bring up the My Document files and go to Edit>Select All>Delete.
That will wipe out the whole caboodle.
